GRIT [Noun; a personality trait]

Perseverance of effort combined with the passion for a particular LONG-TERM goal or end state. This perseverance of effort promotes the overcoming of obstacles or challenges that lie on the path to accomplishment and serves as the driving force in ACHIEVEMENT REALIZATION

As humans we possess the capacity to adapt and respond to various stresses, tasks, and environments. This allows for growth and development of a stronger you!

Goals

 PURPOSE. MISSION. OBJECTIVE

The desired result of your hard work. The end toward which effort is directed. The result you commit to achieve.

Your goals are what defines your plan of care. Together we can form a picture of where you're at and where you want to be and design a plan to achieve those goals in a reasonable and realistic timeline. Are you in pain? Do you want to rehab and still train? Do you have an event or activity that you want to be able to do but haven't been able to get there on your own? Let's get to work finding your GRIT

Resilience

TOUGHNESS. ADAPTABILITY. DURABILITY

The ability of an infrastructure to withstand assaults without complete failure. The capacity to recover in the face of adversity.

Learn from failure and adjust as needed. A common quote in the strength community is "progress isn't linear". This is true in life as well. No matter how hard we try, how much we work and how consistently we put effort in, there will be ups and downs. Most of us have re-occurrences of our pain. All of us are faced with obstacles (adversities or assaults). The more you listen to and learn about your body, the more adaptable and resilient you can be.

Intent

DESIGN. AIM. FOCUS

Mental state in which you commit to a course of action. The plan to do something specific. The thing you plan to achieve.

Intent is what drives goal setting and achievement. In life you set your intentions to achieve the amazing things you want. This intention helps to keep you on course and stick with it until the end. In your body, you move with intent. This intent is where your focus is.... is it to increase knee flexion, to squat to depth, to maintain balance, or to lunge while focusing on a specific muscle group? Focus your attention on something specific and you will see changes happen right before your eyes.

Tenacity

PERSEVERENCE. DETERMINATION. CONSITENCY

The persistence to do what is required. Having persistence in purpose.

Have your main objective in mind at all times and do not quit on the path because you met some resistance. Its ok to grind through the tough parts of all situations. You need to be willing to apply some GRIT to your life. Your goals are amazing, you just need to stick with it and keep on working!
